salvation prayer

Heavenly Father, I come to he you in the Name of Jesus. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself; I need your forgiveness and salvation. I believe that Jesus died on the Cross, and on the third day He rose to be with You. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I invite Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Saviour and I surrender my life to Him. Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace that has saved me from my sins. Please, Lord Jesus, transform my life so that I may bring glory and honour to You alone and not to myself. Thank you Jesus for the gift of eternal life.…

no weapon formed against us will prosper!

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, and who have been called according to His purpose.”– Romans 8:28 On the Easter weekend we had a terrible thing happen to us at JOY! Some cyber hackers got into our data servers and encrypted all our files and work, essentially ‘locking’ everything of ours. They then sent us a ransom message demanding a large amount of money to be paid over into a Bitcoin account (so that it cannot be traced). They said that once they received the money, they would release a decryption ‘key’ for us to access our files again. Basically, we were being blackmailed. This whole incident rendered our staff powerless to work. Our designers could not access their files and…

prayer&intercession

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His Name.”– Psalm 100:4 JOY! has an intercessory network of over 300 readers around South Africa. Our readers receive prayer requests each month for our ministry, our partners, and requests that have been sent to us. Contact us today to join our intercessory network, and to take hands and pray together for this nation. You are welcome to submit prayer requests too. prayer@joymag.co.za…

prophetic word based prayer

“Bless the Lord, you His angels, who excel in strength, who do His Word, heeding the voice of His Word.” – Psalm 103:20 I recently had a vision of myriads of angels that were assigned to our nation, waiting for Christians to give voice according to God’s Word. We have the responsibility to pray in line with His Word and the angels will heed and act according to His Word. This is not a time to draw back, but a time to rise up and stand in the gap for our nation. I have often said that the future of the nation is on the lips of a praying Church. If you are a pastor, motivate prayer meetings and lead them yourself. We are God’s examples to His Church and as…

what you see is what you get

A successful Christian businessman was growing old and knew it was time to choose a successor to take over the business. So he called all the young executives in his company together. He said, “It is time for me to step down and choose the next CEO. I have decided to choose one of you. I am going to give each one of you a seed today – one very special seed. I want you to plant the seed, water it, and come back here one year from today with what you have grown from the seed I have given you. I will then judge the plants that you bring, and the one I choose will be the next CEO” Feeling like a failure One man, Jim, was there that day and…

letters to the editor

Are you discouraged? Many times we become so discouraged by our situation, our circumstance, our trial, or our tribulations, that we forget that we are part of something bigger than this, something bigger than what we are going through, something bigger than us. Without thinking of what will come from this, or what God’s plan is through this, we become focused on the wrong things, and it eats away at the Hope we once knew and had. We focus on our emotions, instead of our character, and we start losing hope. We aren’t defined by what has happened to us or what we went through, but simply by whom we are becoming in Christ through this situation. In a dark world, in a dark place, or in a dark situation, things…
