made by me!

Last night my husband sat opposite me as I was sewing and when I paused he innocently asked “how does your sewing machine actually work?” He’s technically minded so my vague answer about loops and bobbins didn’t quash his curiosity, and so we went (of course) to YouTube and disappeared down a rabbit hole of videos showing the mechanisms at work beneath the “hood” of my beloved Janome. I won’t go into detail – and I’m sure most of you are much better versed than I am on the magic of a sewing machine – but it’s an elegant combination of the needle, bobbin, presser foot and feed dogs. HOW TO CUT TRIANGLES USING YOUR FREE GIFT 1 Cut a strip of fabric to your desired height. We’ve used a 3in strip in these illustrations. Align the top corner with the top of your strip. The bottom edge of your strip should align with the corresponding marked size on the template. Cut along both sides of the template (Fig 1). 2 Turn the template 180-degrees and align with the edge of the strip. Cut along the right edge to cut the next triangle (Fig 2). 3 Once all your triangles are cut, trim the bottom corners. Line up the bottom of the template with the bottom and one side of the triangle. Neatly trim the first corner, then move the template across to trim the second corner (Fig 3).
