Just as Inside Soap has been promising, the team at Corrie pulled out all the stops during a series of top-secret night shoots, filmed on location, to confirm what really happened on the night that Nina and Seb were attacked. The struggling new mum reaches breaking point as she contemplates doing unthinkable things, just to put an end to her torment. Unable to go on, Tracy reaches the devastating conclusion that she’s not fit to look after her own daughter, and must get out of her life. “Tracy thinks the only way Frankie can be safe is if she’s away from her,” explains Amy Walsh, who plays her. “There’s a moment on the bridge this week where Tracy questions whether it’s better if she and Frankie aren’t here any more because then nobody can hurt her baby, and this pain will go away.” Thankfully, this moment passes…

Even though she’s clearly a gifted actress – respected by her colleagues and loved by Dales viewers – star Amy says that she doubted her ability to do justice to Tracy’s storyline. “It’s the first time I’ve thought, ‘Can I go there?’” she admits. “I’m not a parent, so can I portray this well? I have always been able to personally relate my own experiences to stories, so this was daunting.
