A Northamptonshire bike thief has been sentenced to two years in prison and banned from driving for 30 months after his fingerprints were discovered at the scene of a commercial robbery. Appearing at Northampton Crown court, Andru-Jay Burgess, 21, admitted his part in the burglary, which took place overnight between Saturday and Sunday, August 3-4, 2019.
A Kawasaki ZXR750 that the victim described as “irreplaceable” and two Ducati Panigales worth a total of around £38,000 were stolen from a lockup where they were being stored ready to be sold. The bikes, none of which were insured at the time of the theft, had been restored over several years by the owner, who was getting ready to launch a motorcycle business.
