2019 – new year, new salvation goals!

“The tongue of the wise makes knowledge appealing but the mouth of a fool belches out foolishness.” – Proverbs 15:2 It’s a new year – a time to set new goals and hopes. For every Christian, it should also be a time to make a list of unsaved acquaintances, friends, and family with whom we would like to share the Gospel, and hopefully lead them to the Lord. There are so many who are in danger of not spending eternity in heaven because no one took the time to share the Gospel with them, and they never got to hear about the wonderful message of Christ. We need to be strategic with our evangelism efforts – and it starts with this list of unsaved friends…

salvation prayer

Heavenly Father, I come to you in the Name of Jesus. I acknowledge that I am a sinner and that I cannot save myself; I need your forgiveness and salvation. I believe that Jesus died on the Cross, and on the third day He rose to be with You. I confess Jesus as the Lord of my life. I invite Jesus Christ to be my Lord and Saviour and I surrender my life to Him. Thank you Jesus for your unlimited grace that has saved me from my sins. Please, Lord Jesus, transform my life so that I may bring glory and honour to You alone and not to myself. Thank you Jesus for the gift of eternal life. ■…

letters to the editor

Be conscious of God’s love A well-known evangelist, on petitioning the good Lord on what to preach at her upcoming Sunday worship service, received the response, “Tell My people that I love them.” The good evangelist countered, “They know that. I want to teach them something really powerful, not a Sunday school lesson out of John 3:16.” The Lord immediately responded, “Very few of My people really know how much I love them. If they did, they would act differently.” In going more deeply into the issue of ‘God’s love for us’, the evangelist realised that she was in desperate need herself. The Lord led her to 1 John 4:16, which states that we should be conscious of God’s love. The love of God is meant to be…

jealousy: a murderous spirit!

Jealousy is a terrible thing! It can turn you into a murderer like Cain. Cain was jealous over God’s approval of his brother Abel’s sacrifice and refusal of his. As a former Principal Prosecutor, I’ve prosecuted many murder cases that arose out of jealousy. Jealousy that’s not dealt with leads to hatred and makes the jealous person murderous and want to kill whomever they are jealous of. It may not be a physical killing, but may be by way of reputational damage, spreading malicious slander, and other attacks. In Genesis 4:7, God told Cain to do what was right and warned him that sin was crouching at his door. Instead of focusing on doing the right thing, Cain could not get over the fact that Abel had been…

today, my life was farever changed

Today, my life was forever changed. I had my first session of a class I’m taking called “Developing Intimacy With God.” During prayer, I said, “Father I feel so lonely”.He said, “Yes I miss you too.”Confused by the Father’s response, I said, “Father what do you mean? That has nothing to do with what I just said to you.”He said, “Actually, it has everything to do with what I just said to you. Lindsay, loneliness is a lie. It actually doesn’t exist. You compartmentalise your life and only include Me in the spiritual parts of your life, when I actually want to be included in every part of your life – spiritual or unspiritual. And I am a part of your spiritual and unspiritual life – I’ve never left…
