• A GLOBAL shortage of condoms is looming, the world’s biggest producer said, after a Coronavirus lockdown forced it to shut down production. Malaysia’s Karex Bhd makes one in every five condoms globally. It has not produced any from its three Malaysian factories for more than a week due to the lockdown imposed by the government to halt the spread of the virus. That’s a shortfall of 100 million condoms, marketed internationally by brands like Durex, supplied to state healthcare systems, including Britain’s NHS or distributed by aid programmes like the UN Population Fund. • THE decision by Moody’s to cut Mzansi’s credit rating to junk could “not have come at a worse time”, National Treasury said. This as the country enters a 21-day lockdown period in an effort to slow the spread of…

permission not granted!

THE Mpumalanga High Court has ruled against a Mbombela man, who sought an order that would allow him to travel to the Eastern Cape for his grandfather’s funeral. Ruled acting Judge Henk Roelofse: “I cannot accede to the relief the applicant seeks because in doing so, I will be authorising the applicant to break the law under judicial decree – that no court can do. “In addition, no matter how careful and diligent the applicant will conduct himself, not only the applicant but many others may be exposed to unnecessary risk, even death, if I grant the applicant the relief he seeks.” The man, cited in court papers as Karel Willem van Heerden, was informed by his mum on Friday that his grandfather had died in a fire in Hofmeyr, Eastern Cape. He also…

VETERAN house music DJ Fistaz Mixwell is said to have played the wrong tune, which landed him on the wrong side of the law. Fistaz is accused of sexual assault by a Joburg woman. THE country might be going through tough times with the Covid-19 outbreak, but actress Zikhona Sodlaka is not worried. The 34-year-old is staying home in the 21 days of lockdown cuddled up next to her new bae. The Igazi actress is said to be dating East London-born actor Unathi Platyi. Unathi (29) confirmed affair. “It’s true, let’s move on,” he said before hanging up. According to a mole, the love birds met through a mutual friend, and like in the movies “they locked eyes”.
