heroes to zero

The clarion call of eco-Society was heard loud and clear at the Ralph Lauren flagship on New Bond Street for the launch of the Earth Polo – which is made entirely from recycled bottles. Rolling Stones scions Tyrone Wood and James Jagger, alongside Mary Charteris (in midnight-blue sequins), hosted the girls about town Tiger Lily Taylor and Sophia Hesketh, to raise funds for Project 0. They were all outshone, though, by an absentee – Sir Mick Jagger, who rang up to donate £1,000.…

greatest hitch

Aynhoe Park in Oxfordshire (Sir John Soane’s country-house masterpiece) knows how to throw a dazzling party – and festivities reached fever pitch at the wedding of its fun-loving owners James Perkins and Sophie Taylor. Attended by 350 friends – including Tiggy Kennedy and Alice Temperley, who designed the dress – the day was an extravaganza. Vows, made overlooking the Capability Brown vistas, were followed by margaritas in the Orangery. The all-night revelry that followed was to be expected – though Jack Savoretti’s surprise performance wasn’t. And the most original take on the theme of commitment? A tattoo studio, naturally. molly go lightly

He might once have been banned from the famously louche club, but, never one to stick to the rules, Liam Gallagher returned to The Groucho for his daughter Molly Moorish’s 21st birthday party. In fact, the finest scions of Britpop were all there: including the new-gen Gallagher brothers, Lennon and Gene, and Astile Doherty, who joined Goldsmiths art students and models for killer Espresso Martinis and dancing in front of an enormous collage of the birthday girl’s face – which garnered more than a few kisses from revellers as the night went on.…

hot shots

A shoot invitation from hostesses par excellence Tor Dashwood and Ella Hadsley-Chaplin is worth the early start, as guests including James Gilbey and Hum Fleming were well aware. After powering through five clay drives at the EJ Churchill ground, everyone moved next door to the Dashwood home, West Wycombe Park, for a spirited lunch – barbecued muntjac, shot by Sir Edward earlier that week – on a grand hydrangeabedecked table in the 18th-century Palladian colonnade. After the raffle, which included art by Daisy van Straubenzee, raised £17,000 for cancer research, it was off to 5 Hertford Street for a cocktail-fuelled afterparty.…
