My husband, at the tender age of 71, completed them last week, celebrating at the top of the final one with Champagne. To commemorate the occasion, I made him a bed runner quilt. It has 282 triangles, including the flying geese, the landscape panels and prairie point edging at the sides. One of the landscape panels is a homage to Van Gogh’s ‘Starry Night’, which he loves, and the backing is in that fabric. Definitely a one-off labour of love, and I really enjoyed the challenge of bringing it from concept to reality (AKA making it up as I went along)!…
