Setting sail! I have finally finished my Spoondrift quilt from last years Block of the Month series, designed by Janet Clare. I made the quilt for my daughter and son-in-law who live on the south coast. My son-in-law runs an outdoor pursuits centre in Chichester harbour and my daughter works in coastal zone management, so the combination of sailing and wildlife themes were perfect for them. “After I’d made the autumn-themed ‘The Grape Thieves’ quilt with William Morris prints for issue 68, I naturally started thinking about making a similar quilt for each of the remaining seasons (as you do!). This is the first, designed to evoke the chilly quiet of a walk in the woods through softly falling snow.
