The Western Cape Provincial Parliament's Standing Committee on Finance, Economic Opportunities and Tourism has adopted a report detailing operational inefficiencies at the Port of Cape Town, as well as recommendations to address the issues.
In response to President Cyril Ramaphosa's commitment to revitalising the Port of Durban, the committee was adamant that similar attention and urgency be given to the Port of Cape Town, and copies of its report have been sent to Ramaphosa, Minister of Public Enterprises Pravin Gordhan, and the CEO of Transnet, said Cayla Murray, the DA Western Cape Spokesperson on Finance, Economic Opportunities and Tourism.
