At first, I was worried about how Nigel’s condition would impact Phil’s mental health in the long term, but it was heartwarming to see him open up to Linda. The future that comes won’t be easy for either of the men, but I think Nige will have a great carer in Phil when it matters most. Linda, Clitheroe I think it was really brave of EastEnders to address Nigel’s plan to end his own life. It wasn’t an easy watch by any means, but it was powerful storytelling and demonstrated the real-life heartache that dementia patients, along with their loved ones, deal with.
