There were so many lovely references to Bernie’s time in Albert Square, like her touching goodbye in the allotment speaking to Belle, or her final moment of feeling proud in the middle of Pride. After witnessing a robbery at the corner shop this week (see p20), Lisa behaves out of character by totally freezing! Carla is left completely baffled by her police girlfriend’s lack of action after the event, so later quizzes the detective on why she didn’t arrest the robber and instead let him run off without facing justice.
