The calendar may say summer, but pretty soon, believe it or not, the clothes we saw on the fall runways in February will be making their way into stores. We showcase our favorite looks from the collections in “Rebel Rebel” (page 104), so named because of all the print-clashing, texture-mixing, shapeshifting, and rule-breaking going on. Some pieces will seem familiar but have an off-kilter twist, like a menswear blazer in an upholstery-inspired fabric; plush coats in an electric palette of yellow, purple, and sky blue; skirts so voluminous, they put the “max” in maxi skirts. These clothes are anything but quiet—they pulse with fresh vibrancy and energy. You’d be surprised how many times I see something in the magazine and say, “I want that.” (Lately I’ve been wearing a pair…
I loved the article “Wonder Women” by Brooke Hauser. The stars you chose for the Fresh Faces of 2016 are smart, charismatic, and confident. Those are three characteristics that I think all young women should have. These ladies have taught me to work harder on reaching my goals and to never give up on my dreams. —Candice Campbell, Knoxville, TN ON INSTAGRAM @livelearnluxeit: Does anyone else have a major girl crush on @zendaya like I do?? Her makeup is always FLAWLESS! NONSTOP FLIGHT Just wanted to say kudos for the May 2016 issue. It’s rare for me to read any magazine in its entirety. This month was probably the first time that I couldn’t put it down. After the pilot on my flight announced that we were number 15 in…
WRITER LINDA WELLS @lindawellsny Wells, who lives in NYC, wrote “Body of Work” (p. 90), about full-body skincare treatments. “Just as I was peeling off my black Wolfords for the season, I discovered a whole new batch of solutions for the things they were hiding,” she says. “There are easy solutions to many annoying issues on the body.” FAVORITE ACTRESS: Julianne Moore. READING: The Door by Magda Szabó. SENIOR MARKET EDITOR BRITTANY KOZERSKI @brittanykozerski Kozerski’s inspiration for styling Joey King (“Cool Rider,” p. 69) was the actress’s love of skateboarding. “I wanted high fashion that was streetwear-influenced,” the New Yorker says. “The photographer suggested shooting Joey skateboarding in the street—but was quickly shut down by her publicist!” PERSONAL STYLE IN A WORD: Minimal. FAVORITE MEAL: Pasta. PHOTOGRAPHER ARNAUD PYVKA The photographer…
AGE: 28. OCCUPATION: Actress. HOMETOWN: Burbank, California. CURRENT RESIDENCE: Bedford, New York. JUST FOR KICKS: The actress arrived in faded Mother jeans, a white Isabel Marant for H&M T-shirt, Adidas Stan Smith sneakers, and a cream-colored Gerard Darel trench. PEACE MEAL: Before the shoot, Lively joked that she was getting “hangry” (so hungry you’re angry) and ordered a club sandwich and pot stickers. Later, she opted for Nobu sushi and sweets from Thomas Keller’s Bouchon Bakery. TOP CHEF: “All I’ve been eating is Kraft Mac & Cheese,” says the foodie, who shared her special hack: substituting cream cheese for milk to make it creamier. MANI MAGIC: A Harry Potter fan, Lively had the Deathly Hallows symbol (a vertical line and a circle inside a triangle) painted on her ring-finger nail…
