‘Brit naked has full package’
The Suzuki is the cheapest (as a base model, not the accessory-clad model supplied for this test) with a strong motor, great front end, good looks, useful TC and a reasonably roomy riding position, but is let down by poor fuelling, a budget rear shock and brakes that lack bite. The Kawasaki has a lovely, smooth, linear motor and lots of grunt. Good handling and strong brakes make the Zed fun to ride, but it can’t beat the Triumph’s overall package.
With its usable power, smoothness, sound, and character, the Speed Triple 1050 has it all. The Triumph has the best brakes of the bunch, too, and comes with easy handling that works on both track and the road. It’s competitively priced, too, at £10,200.…
