The Tigé MyWake Global Challenge is a massive pro-am event that blends the two best aspects of our sport: free-riding and contest riding. At the start of summer, the free-riding portion kicked off the event with a user-generated online contest of wakeboarders, wakeskaters and wakesurfers who submitted videos of themselves riding at home. The videos were then judged; monthly winners were chosen, and a specific number of riders in each division were invited to the live Tigé MyWake Global Challenge event in Sparks, Nevada. The other common style is a back zip, where the user steps into the wetsuit from the back. Back zips are typically easier to get on, while chest zips tend to be more efficient at keeping water out.
