THE National Assembly has given the green light for the establishment of an inquiry into the fitness of commissioner Mbuyiselo Botha of the Commission for Gender Equality (CGE) to hold public office. The impeachment inquiry is set to get under way in the seventh Parliament after the May 29 elections. This comes after the three-member independent panel of experts determined that Botha has a case to answer following a range of allegations levelled against him. It recommended that Parliament institute an impeachment inquiry that may lead to Botha’s removal from office. THE Knysna municipality says it has denied requests for information involving a lease agreement between the municipality and one of its biggest debtors, Grey Elephant Investments (GEI), due to the correct official channels not being utilised among other reasons. ActionSA announced recently they had filed a Promotion of Access to Information Act (PAIA) application in efforts to have sight of the lease agreement. San Francisco: TikTok yesterday said it would begin labelling AI-generated content automatically from several platforms, including OpenAI’s Dall-E and the company’s own tools and generators. Authentication has become a major concern in the fast development of AI, with authorities worried about the proliferation of deepfakes that could disrupt society.
