When Natalie Hemming began dating the man who was later to become her long-term partner, in 2007, her sister, Jo Beverley, was delighted her sister had finally found happiness.
But as Paul’s actions became controlling, Jo grew increasingly concerned – and, tragically, when Natalie tried to leave the relationship in 2016, Paul brutally murdered her in a case that shook the nation.
According to recent stats from Women’s Aid, this isn’t a one-off story – 139 women were murdered by men in 2017 and 75 per cent knew their attacker.
