What is woodburning?
Woodburning, also known as pyrography, is all about keeping a light, gliding touch as you move a hot penlike tool over wood furniture or home decor to achieve custom designs. Unfinished and soft woods, like pine or aspen, burn easiest. If embellishing finished wood, such as this thrift-store table, sand it before you begin to remove the existing finish.
