OVER DINNER RECENTLY, a conversation started about Frida Kahlo (I’m going somewhere with this, and it’s not into art history). We started discussing Frida’s life, her work, her health – to which my best mate, looking at me sceptically, asked, ‘How is it that you know so much about Ms Kahlo?’ I admitted that I had been spending a lot of time with Frida, Rosa Parks, Marie Curie and some of the most amazing women in history, thanks to the children’s book series Little People, Big Dreams.
The collection has been such a success, it’s spawned many a copycat (great women of space, science, sport, history), designed to inspire young women to aim for the stars.
I’d bought Little People… for my son, Fin. ‘Started him early I see!’ said…
