OUTGOING head of eThekwini Municipality’s economic development and planning unit Phillip Sithole has detailed his successes over the years, saying his unit had been able to attract billions of rand in investment for the city. Msunduzi Municipality has condemned attacks by members of the public on its staff who were carrying out repairs on electricity infrastructure around the city. About a dozen countries have slapped fresh travel regulations on travellers from China, as the world’s most populous nation faces a surge in Covid-19 cases following its decision to relax strict virus restrictions. Hanoi: Hundreds of rescuers in Vietnam yesterday battled to free a 10-year-old boy who fell into a 35m-deep hole at a construction site two days ago. The boy, Thai Ly Hao Nam, fell into the shaft of a hollow concrete pillar just 25cm wide, sunk as part of a new bridge, apparently while looking for scrap metal.
