There’s a major election happening in a few weeks, but if that’s not scary enough, check out our excellent, creatively provocative recommendations in this issue. Escaping the bombardment of political ads, pundits, and other talking heads by reading thrilling sf, fantasy, and horror titles sounds fantastic to me. Of course, I don’t want to minimize what’s at stake. The candidates who win will help shape local, national, and international policy. The choices are consequential, especially considering the state of world. I will vote and I hope those of you who are eligible will vote as well.
