MV AGUSTA’S LATEST Dragster 800 RR gets a host of Euro4 engine upgrades, including a new countershaft, primary drive, intake cams, valves, gearbox, exhaust and engine cover.
Despite the triple’s major surgery, power and torque remain unchanged, so it’s no surprise it rides the same as before. It’s still a raw, decadent, naked supersport weapon, blessed with an ear-bleeding soundtrack and one of the most explosive-sounding autoblippers on any bike.
It still isn’t perfect, though. An even stiffer chassis (thanks to new engine mounts) is more suited to the track than fast bumpy roads, where it’s always on the verge of a bar-wagging slap. Even with new mapping, fuelling can still be harsh and inconsistent at low speed.
