It’s mind-blowing how long some soap stars have been in their jobs (though a lot of long-term readers of this magazine might say the same about me!). While we all know Bill Roache has been playing Ken since Corrie began a whopping five decades ago, it’s amazing to see the names who make our countdown of soap’s 25 longest-serving stars this issue – all of them still enjoying major storylines! Dot’s return comes just a couple of weeks after press reports that actress June Brown is suffering from health troubles and going both ‘deaf and blind’. Although June has admitted her “eyes are not very good” and that she recently suffered some hearing loss following a flight, musician Tim Arnold – who’s June’s godson and the boyfriend of former EastEnder Jessie Wallace (Kat Moon) – poured scorn on the reports. It’s Louise’s first day back on the floor as a nurse this week – and she’s hoping for some real excitement! ROSS RETURNS! The Dales’ Pete thought he’d killed brother Ross and left his body in the woods for the crows and foxes. But no!
