Cerebral palsy can occur if a baby’s brain doesn’t develop normally in the womb, or is damaged during or soon after birth. Megan went into labour with Eliza while lost in a wood – and although she did end up in hospital, the delay in delivery had caused Eliza to be starved of oxygen. Other causes of cerebral palsy include bleeding in the brain or an infection caught by the pregnant mother. “Cerebral palsy is the name for a group of lifelong conditions that affect movement and coordination, caused by a problem with the brain before, during or soon after birth,” says the NHS. Symptoms aren’t usually obvious when a baby is born, but become noticeable during the first two or three years of a child’s life. They include delays…

However, like many historical tales, some of the details have become slightly muddled over the years, and the role of Guy Fawkes has become a little overstated. Although Fawkes was one of the conspirators plotting to blow up the Houses of Parliament and assassinate the king in response to the persecution of Catholics in Protestant England, the driving force behind the plan was Robert Catesby – who finally gets to take centre stage in this three-part drama. He’s played by Game Of Thrones star Kit Harington – who co-developed and executive produced the series – and there’s a reason why he was so keen to tell this story.…
