I was able to use iDVD as an excellent, simple DVD authoring system, as there are a number of home movies that I want to turn into semi-professional looking DVDs with menus. Catcher Technology, the company that manufacturers the chassis for Apple’s laptops, is apparently working on a new product category. The news, confirmed by Catcher chairman Allen Horng, has led to speculation that it could be working on an augmented reality (AR) headset. Since Apple is one of Catcher’s major clients, there has also been some speculation that if Catcher is indeed working on an AR headset, it could be for Apple. For years, Apple had packed its iMacs with PowerPC processors, developed with IBM and Motorola. First debuting in the Power Macintosh and Performa models of 1994, the PowerPC chip was a mainstay of Apple desktop computers for 12 years before being phased out.
