Three people arrested in connection with the shooting of seven people in Savanna Park, Mariannhill, have yet to be charged with the murders.
This emerged yesterday when two of the three suspects appeared in the Pinetown Magistrate’s Court. Their case was postponed to September 16 for a possible bail hearing.
Seven men were shot dead at a tuckshop and liquor outlet, Siqhopholozi Tuckshop, on July 30 in Savanna Park.
According police reports, it is alleged a group of men opened fire, killing six men aged between 30 and 65.
The seventh died in hospital.
The deceased were Duncan Mzobe, the tuckshop owner and his nephews, Sbusiso Mzobe, Siyabonga Khenisa and Sanele Khenisa, his friend, Alfred Mpithimpithi, and local man Siyakudumisa “Rasta” Mtshengu.
The seventh man was not named.
