Coastal landscapes can be tranquil and striking — places of ethereal, wild beauty that are home to a rich diversity of plant life. Australia’s rugged coastline is also where most Australian’s choose to live; in fact, 85 per cent of us live in locations that either hug the coastline, or are within cooee of it.
The plants that grow beachside are resilient and low to the ground, or naturally wind pruned. They often have small, leathery or furry leaves, to withstand salt spray, and tapered or gnarly trunks.
