The R1250RT differs from the 1200 in the following: Hayes front brake calipers instead of Brembo (same spec, negligible difference on the RT), engine spoiler at the header pipes, semi-active Dynamic ESA with Road and Dyna settings (instead of Hard, Normal, Soft) and auto-preload (no more telling the RT whether you’re solo or with a pillion). Then there’s the ShiftCam engine; 1254cc up from 1170cc, 134bhp up from 123bhp, 106lb·ft up from 92lb·ft. The base bike (£14,415) comes with manual suspension, heated grips and hill-start. The SE (£15,615) adds semi-active suspension, heated seat, cruise and sat-nav mount. The LE (£16,700) adds an up-and-down quickshifter, chrome exhaust, tyre-pressure monitors and central locking.
