THE family of slain LEAP officer Lyle Thomas have shared their heartbreak as they await justice.
Officer Lyle Thomas, 28, who was off duty at the time, was hit by a vehicle on Jakes Gerwel Drive near Samora Machel on December 14 last year by a motorist who was allegedly under the influence.
According to police, Thomas spotted cops attending to an accident. He got out his car to assist. But as he was helping, a grey Toyota Fortuner slammed into the stationary police van.
