BEEF PRICES MIXED
International: New Zealand steers traded 1,69% lower at NZ$5,23/kg, and cows traded 2,71% lower at NZ$3,59/kg. US prices were mostly lower: topside was 4,56% lower at US$196,11/cwt, rump was 1,28% lower at US$269,71/cwt, strip loin was 1,65% higher at US$406,12/cwt, chuck traded 2,17% lower at US$204,53/cwt, and brisket traded 0,36% lower at US$203,95/cwt. The carcass price was 0,53% lower at US$244,52/cwt. Reduced beef supplies in New Zealand supported the demand for prime cuts.
Domestic: Local prices were mostly higher. Class A was 0,95% higher at R38,25/kg, while Class C was 0,59% higher at R32,61/kg. The weaner price was 1,67% higher at R20,67/kg and the hide price was 1% higher at R15,22/kg. The weaker rand was responsible for the increase in hide prices.
