Oh, I do love a big, epic soap week where you know every episode is going to bring you several thrills and at least a couple of spills. So I’m very excited about Corrie this week. Not only is Carla Connor – the best cobbles character of the last two decades – making her explosive exit, but that body that’s been festering under Gail’s annexe is set to fester no more! Sign language is such a good tool to learn, and makes a big difference to those who use it. I hope it encourages more people to learn the language. ONE OF THE THINGS WE’RE ENJOYING most about the second series of In The Club is its honesty. We can appreciate the real-world experience behind these characters as they deal with the fearsome responsibility of having children, whether they’re worrying about not being good enough parents, or starting to feel like they can’t even remember the people they were before they had kids to worry about. Creator Kay Mellor has always had a knack for writing characters who feel lived-in, and she’s backed up here by a strong cast who make the women at the core of the tale engaging and sympathetic, even at the very worst of times.…

Peggy’s return episode was so weird! Hardly anyone spoke. There was just lots of long silences. Did the script writer only get paid half? It was very sad, though, especially when Peggy received her latest diagnosis, and you saw the tears form in her eyes.
