We’re used to rooting for heroes and booing villains in soapland, but the stars of Coronation Street and Hollyoaks found themselves among a raft of actual superheroes at the recent Wish Upon A Star Black and White Ball, held at the Hallmark Hotel in Cheshire. Corrie’s Sue Cleaver (Eileen) posed with Batman, as she and a host of our soap favourites revelled in the superhero theme for the 19th annual charity do. I love a good drama, and I’ve heard so many good things about The Night Manager that it’s next on my list. I loved the gnarly plot of The Affair, too.
