Love it because It’s a convenient, compact weekend trip into a remote and beautiful part of Scotland without having to slog all the way north to the Highlands.
Take a picture at Night, from the top of the Forest Park - there’s no ambient light whatsoever, so it’s a great spot for wild camping, shooting-star trails, and some nocturnal hanky panky.
Stop for a cuppa at The Belfry, Kirkcudbright (pronounced Kuh-coo-brit, I think).
