Firefox has started blocking some web content that relies on Adobe’s Flash, in an attempt to stop people using the unsafe plug-in.
Mozilla, which runs Firefox, said it will prevent from working “certain Flash content that is not essential to the user experience”. Then, some time in 2017, it will block Flash completely by default. At this point users will have to click a button to allow Flash to play.
Many websites still use Flash to display animations, games, videos and online applications, but it has become increasingly dangerous in recent years, with countless security flaws that hackers could exploit.
